My top 6 that guide my training and that I teach to clients
#1 - Perform exercises with the best mind muscle connection, that work for my body, are pain free, and train a muscle with relatively full ROM
#2 - Train as hard as I can that day. So long as I can push myself on at least two movements, its a good workout
#3 - Intensity over volume. You grow by getting stronger, not by making yourself tired.
#4 - When in doubt, assess your technique. Small errors in alingment and poor setup can lead to pain and aggravation. Good training is many small things done well.
#5 - ALWAYS be hydrated. Do not lift with “dry muscles”. That means adequate water, and salt, and potassium. Drink 1 liter of water with 1 gram of sodium and 1 gram of potassium together.
#6 - Follow a Program. A program is manifest of your training philosophy. If you dont have one, find a good coach that can guide you, give you structure and routine, and be a leader through the self-discovery process.
