Getting healthy always begins with attention. You must be able to self-assess
Unhealthy people are ignorant this way. They dont pay attention.
If you are not aware of your own being, of your physical health, or the "health" of your actions and consequences, of the health of your world and reality, then you cannot apply discipline to ANYTHING.
What are you supposed to limit? What are you supposed to do more of?
What processes should you apply?
How do you determine a plan?
You've no idea, because you're blind to your own being.
I've spent my career telling grown adults that their lack of sleep is BAD for them. Educated people who fail to take care of their basic physical needs.
Are they aware? No, they are not, not if you are so good at ignoring your own state of illness that it persists for years, becomes a problem, and then you experience cognitive dissonance at being told to not drink 10 cups of coffee, eat whole food, and you need to sleep more than 5 hours.
You've built your reality on being blind, and thinking compromises would not compound and not matter,
And guess what, it all mattered. And it cost you.
Ive trained people who could not shutup while exercising, they talked non stop. Who looked around the room while doing bicep curls. Who were so lacking in attention to their own internal performance that they had no instinct of movement. Had I not been there, they would have done everything wrong.
You cannot recognize what is good for you without PAYING ATTENTION.
Discipline is an act of "focus" for a reason. Focus is your eyes and mind on one thing and one thing only.
When you've lived your life with your eyes closed, authentic discipline is impossible until you open them.
Pay attention to yourself.
Then start looking for knowledge and answers to your issues.
Great read dear Alex, keep em coming
