Welcome Trainee!! If you are following me here, you likely found me through twitter, instagram, or my free newsletter.

While I have been writing online for a long time, I realize some of you are likely recent readers and may not know much about me.

3 Sentence Biography: I have been a personal trainer since 2010, and have been writing fitness content (both online and in magazines) since 2013. Background in classical and modern dance, currently an amateur combat sports practitioner. Trained A LOT of people, traveled, studied, and made fitness my “edge”; it is the ONLY profession I have ever done.

What is this Blog About: This blog is about Broscience. Let us define what that means.

Broscience is a revival of the classical (ancient) spirit and practice of science, as defined by Aristotle:

Theoretical Science: Knowledge of ideas

Productive Science: Knowledge of Production/Creation

Practical Science: Knowledge of Action

Over the past century, modern science has become increasing Anti-Science. It has been corrupted because of politicization in manipulating and controlling public opinion, financialization through the hijacking of various capital interests, the separation of domains of knowledge and adversity towards interdisciplinary exploration, the replication crisis, and the consequent “cult of scientism”, the establishment Chimera that encapsulates all these influences.

Truth is hard to find, and fitness is no exception to this. Fitness is largely a consumer market, bad thinking is endemic, and this is amplified by a low bar of education for fitness professionals, and a lack application in the academic world.

At the same time, we must account that historically, the average individual did not need to concern themselves with problems of overabundance of food and lack of activity. For most of history, it was the reverse set of problems. Famine and hard physical living were the problem of history. Our modern poverty is a poverty of movement, not of calories.

To Be Healthy Requires Conscientious Living

and Broscience is the framework I use to navigate health, fitness, and life as a whole.

Broscience is the practice of using theoretical, productive, and practical perspectives to find TRUTH.

I am a Broscientist. I take what I do seriously. My profession, and the topics of this blog, is delivering the most proven and useful knowledge to you the reader, as it pertains to the fields of exercise, nutrition, and holistic health.

Why I Created this Substack:

Reason 1-
For your education. Achieving ELITE health is attainable by anyone, but it does not happen by accident. Elite health requires elite thinking. Optimizing your physical, hormonal, metabolic health provides you with the vital energy to live a life unconstrained.

Reason 2-As a public body of work that is available to all. I have written a newsletter since 2016, and the sheer volume of content I have produced is in the millions of words, but it exists solely on the newsletter and nowhere else. Frequently I find myself in a middle ground of producing content that is simply too long for a newsletter, but not of sufficient length for a book. I want to share my work with the larger world, and Substack is a unique opportunity to do so

How This Substack Works: Each week I publish one long form, deep exploration essay on a given topic. Some are very niche, others are broad. Health and Fitness is always the recurrent and foundational theme. These essays are for paid subscribers.

Questions are Always Encouraged

Reader AMAs will be published periodically as questions arise. These will be In-depth, long form answers and tutorials to serious questions. “Thoughts” will never be a question.

Throughout the week, shorter form content can be expected. This will generally be free content and sharing of resources that I deem to be high utility.
